Chicken Soup Friends

A couple of weeks ago, my good friend Jill and I packed up the car, strapped in a precious baby boy, and headed south for a weekend in St. Petersburg, to visit our friend Cara. After starting our annual "Girl's Weekend" tradition last year, I was very excited to spend time with two special friends (plus a sweet little boy), take in the beautiful views of the water, eat at unique places, and spend a little time shopping and vegging out. I always come home from our girl's trips feeling so happy and refreshed. As I was driving back home I thought about how special our friendship is, and how important it is to have what I like to call, "Chicken Soup Friends". These are the friends that make you feel good, no matter what type of mood you are in; they are the friends you can have fun with doing anything- whether it be sitting in the same room reading different magazines in silence, or dancing with to great music. They are the honest friends who tell you what others wouldn't, or who will challenge you when you need to hear it. They are the friends that you would drop anything for if they were in any type of crisis. They are, like the Chicken Soup book series says, "good for the soul".

Fiona was happy to see Banks.

We caught up with a few other friends for a great dinner at Cantina.

One of the highlights of the trip was being able to visit with Cara's sweet grandmother, Issy. She and Banks became fast friends.

Can't wait for the next trip! xoxo
