Yesterday, Landon turned...
He is such a happy, laid-back baby and every day I thank God that he is ours. He adores his big sister and any time she begins to talk to him he immediately smiles at her. She loves introducing him to anyone, (including her own parents), and says "This is my baby brother, this is my Landon". In the car, if he starts to cry she says, "We're almost there buddy, don't fuss". It melts my heart seeing her interact with him and talk to him like a little mother hen. I predict there will be years of that ahead..
Our 2 month doctor's visit was yesterday as well. Landon weighs 12lbs 5oz, and is 23 inches tall. He is a healthy growing boy, and the doctor said that he is meeting all of his developmental milestones. He also received 3 shots, which he was not happy about in the least. I felt so bad for the little guy-- he stuck his bottom lip out and wailed. But after it was over, I do have to say, there is something incredibly precious about a baby with 3 superhero Band-Aids on his little legs.
Landon has been such a different experience for me than Peyton was. Poor girl was always in such pain because of her reflux early on that I don't think she really started taking in the world until she was around 4-5 months old. Landon loves to look around and really just seems to
sit lay back and absorb his surroundings. He looks intently at our mouths when we talk to him and has been mimicking some of the sounds we make for a couple of weeks now. When he says "a-goo" back to us he smiles really big like he is so proud of himself. He has laughed a few times in his sleep, but we are waiting for that precious giggle to be a reaction to something or someone. When we hold him upright, he also loves to "stand" on flat surfaces. He straightens out his legs and kind of locks his knees to where he is really pressing down on his feet. He has really strong legs for a little fella. I think once he gets older/stronger and begins to crawl there will be no stopping him. But, anyone who's been around Peyton knows that he will have to move fast to keep up with her. :-)

| All of the "kids". (Side-note- Trip ALWAYS has to have a paw or part of his face on Landon's mat. Protective big brother.) |
Today also kind of marks the first official day of summer in my work world, although I guess "summer" started for me right around the first week of April when I began my maternity leave. I am really looking forward to having this extended break with the kids and being able to spend some time with them before the chaos begins again in August. Next year will bring some big changes for Peyton as she will be entering Pre-K, (99% sure it will be at Buck Lake with me). She already knows she will be going to the "big school" next year, and seems happy about it-- but that also means saying goodbye to Ms. Sharon and Ms. Amanda, who she has spent day after day with since she was 9 months old. Thankfully, Landon will be taking her place at Buck Lake Babies, so she can still visit them in the afternoons when we pick him up. Until then, we will be enjoying the summer!
