Welcome to the World Landon!

Landon Robert Mullinax was born on April 3, 2013 at 2:11am. He was a 7lb 7oz, 19.8 inch long bundle of preciousness.

After a week long of on and off contractions teasing me each night, they finally became more consistent and 5-7 minutes apart around 6pm on Tuesday night.  Because of my whole "contractions that cried wolf" experience over the previous week, instead of making a decision about going to the hospital, I sat on the couch waiting to see how far apart the next one would be.  Finally around 7:30- we decided we either needed to head to the hospital, or start getting Peyton ready for bed. We decided to pack things up and head out.  We first dropped off the dogs at my dads and then Peyton with Rob's parents.

Our time in labor and delivery was relatively quick-- they were pretty slow that night so I was able to receive an epidural pretty early and not long after that kicked in my doctor broke my water. She estimated that Landon would probably make his arrival around 3:00--and apparently my body likes a good challenge because from that point on, things sped up a little bit and at 2:11am, he was born. They placed him on me right away and I was able to hold on to him for about 20 minutes before they brought him over to be weighed and bathed for the first time.

Proud daddy cutting the cord.

Landon opened his eyes right away and even cut his glance over to Rob when he spoke to him for the first time

First bath- Landon didn't complain too much.
One of the most special moments during our hospital stay (aside from his birth), was introducing Peyton to her little brother for the first time.  It's so surreal watching your baby girl become a big sister. She was so sweet toward him and just completely curious about the tiny little being in my arms. She thought his feet were hilarious, (I guess because they were so small), and kept touching his toes. But in true Peyton fashion, the new little life in the room didn't hold her attention for too terribly long, as she became even more fascinated with other things-- the buttons on the hospital bed, the leftover brownie from my lunch, etc..

One of my absolute favorites.

Taking in the "new baby" smell??
We are all in love.  After we had Peyton, we knew that she would not be our only child and that our family was still a work in progress. With Landon here, our family now feels complete. I feel so incredibly blessed to have these two beautiful babies in my life.
